From Sri Lanka to Australia: Chathura Suranjith Builds CS Graphic Meta

Sri Lankan entrepreneur Chathura Suranjith is building his business journey in Australia as the founder of CS Graphic Meta, a branding and marketing agency based in South East Melbourne.

From developing his professional foundation in Sri Lanka to establishing and growing a business in Australia, Chathura’s journey reflects years of experience, continuous learning and a strong commitment to building brands that can compete in changing markets.

A major milestone came in 2026 when CS Graphic Meta was recognised as a Finalist in the 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards, presented by Commonwealth Bank.

For a Sri Lankan-founded business growing in Australia, the recognition represents an important step in Chathura’s entrepreneurial journey and the continued development of CS Graphic Meta within the Australian business community.

Building a Professional Foundation in Sri Lanka

Before establishing CS Graphic Meta in Australia, Chathura developed his professional experience in Sri Lanka.

His background in branding, design and marketing gave him the foundation to understand an important principle: a successful brand needs more than attractive visuals.

A business also needs a clear identity, consistent communication and marketing that connects with the right audience.

Over the years, Chathura continued to develop his knowledge across branding and marketing while applying a continuous-improvement mindset to his professional work.

That experience later became an important part of the foundation behind CS Graphic Meta.

Taking the Entrepreneurial Journey to Australia

Establishing a business in another country brings a different set of challenges.

A founder needs to understand a new market, communicate with different audiences, build professional relationships and earn the trust of businesses that may have many competing options.

For Chathura, moving from Sri Lanka to Australia created an opportunity to take his existing experience into a new business environment while continuing to learn and adapt.

He established CS Graphic Meta as a branding and marketing agency in South East Melbourne, with a focus on helping businesses strengthen how they present themselves and communicate with their customers.

The agency’s work combines creative thinking with marketing strategy, allowing businesses to develop a more consistent identity across their customer touchpoints.

Building CS Graphic Meta as a Branding and Marketing Agency

Through CS Graphic Meta, Chathura works with businesses that want to strengthen their brands and improve the effectiveness of their marketing.

His approach connects branding with the broader goals of a business rather than treating design as a standalone activity.

A logo may be one visible part of a brand, but Chathura’s perspective extends to the way a business communicates, positions itself and creates consistency across its marketing.

This means thinking about questions such as:

  • How should customers recognise the business?
  • What makes the brand different from its competitors?
  • Is the business communicating consistently?
  • Does its branding support its marketing goals?
  • Does its marketing reflect the identity the business wants to build?

By connecting these areas, CS Graphic Meta aims to help businesses create stronger and more recognisable brands.

A 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards Finalist

One of the most significant milestones in Chathura’s Australian business journey arrived in 2026.

CS Graphic Meta was named a Finalist in the 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards, presented by Commonwealth Bank.

The recognition marks an important achievement for both Chathura and the business he has been building in Australia.

For an entrepreneur who began his professional journey in Sri Lanka and later established a business in Australia, becoming a finalist represents more than an award milestone.

It reflects the gradual process of building a name, strengthening client relationships and becoming part of the local business community.

Recognition alone does not define the success of a business, but milestones such as this can demonstrate how far an entrepreneurial journey has progressed.

For Chathura, it also provides further motivation to continue developing CS Graphic Meta and supporting businesses through branding and marketing.

A Strong Focus on Continuous Improvement

Continuous improvement has played an important role throughout Chathura’s career.

Among his professional achievements is 1st Place in a Kaizen Circle Competition.

Kaizen is based on the idea that meaningful improvement can come through consistent changes over time. That philosophy aligns closely with the way Chathura approaches professional development and business growth.

Building a business rarely happens through one major decision.

It happens by continuously improving processes, learning from experience, responding to client needs, developing new skills and adapting to changes in the market.

This continuous-improvement mindset has remained part of Chathura’s journey as he has moved from his professional career in Sri Lanka to entrepreneurship in Australia.

Professional Credentials Supporting His Journey

Alongside his practical industry experience, Chathura has continued to strengthen his professional knowledge through additional certifications and training.

His professional achievements include:

  • 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards Finalist
  • 1st Place Winner – Kaizen Circle Competition
  • Certified SEO Marketer
  • Certified Digital Marketer
  • Certified Industrial Wellbeing Trainer

These credentials reflect a broader commitment to learning across marketing, business improvement and professional development.

Rather than relying solely on past experience, Chathura has continued developing skills that support the changing needs of businesses and marketing environments.

Connecting Branding and Marketing

One of the central ideas behind Chathura’s work is that branding and marketing should support each other.

Branding establishes how a business wants people to recognise and remember it.

Marketing takes that identity into the market and helps businesses communicate with potential customers.

When the two areas work separately, businesses can struggle with inconsistent messages, visuals and positioning.

When they work together, a company can create a clearer and more recognisable presence.

Through CS Graphic Meta, Chathura brings these areas together to help businesses think more strategically about how they present themselves.

The objective is not simply to make a business look better. It is to help create a brand identity that supports how the business wants to grow and communicate.

Sri Lankan Talent Building Beyond Borders

Chathura’s journey is also part of a wider story of Sri Lankan entrepreneurs building careers and businesses internationally.

Sri Lankan professionals around the world continue to take skills, knowledge and experience developed at home into new markets and industries.

For Chathura, Australia has become the next stage of a professional journey that began in Sri Lanka.

The experience he developed earlier in his career continues to influence the way he approaches branding, marketing and business development today.

His journey demonstrates that moving to another country does not mean starting without experience. Instead, previous knowledge can become the foundation for building something new in a different environment.

Building Trust in a New Market

For any new business, trust takes time to develop.

That challenge can become even greater when an entrepreneur establishes a company in a new country.

Clients want to know that the people behind a business understand their needs, communicate clearly and can deliver consistent work.

Building that reputation requires patience.

It comes through individual projects, client relationships, ongoing improvement and the quality of the experience a business provides.

The recognition of CS Graphic Meta as a 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards Finalist represents an encouraging milestone within that longer process.

It signals another stage in the agency’s development as Chathura continues building its presence in Australia.

Looking Ahead for Chathura Suranjith and CS Graphic Meta

Chathura’s journey from Sri Lanka to Australia continues to evolve.

What began with professional experience in branding, design and marketing has grown into the development of CS Graphic Meta as a branding and marketing agency in South East Melbourne.

The 2026 Local Business Awards finalist recognition has become an important milestone, but Chathura sees continued development as an ongoing process.

His focus remains on strengthening the business, supporting clients and continuing to improve the way CS Graphic Meta approaches branding and marketing.

For Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and professionals building careers internationally, stories such as Chathura’s provide a reminder that meaningful progress is often built gradually.

Experience creates the foundation. Learning strengthens it. Consistency turns it into momentum.

From Sri Lanka to Australia, Chathura Suranjith’s journey with CS Graphic Meta is still being written — and the 2026 South East Melbourne Local Business Awards recognition marks another important chapter along the way.

  • Sri Lanka has launched this year’s petroleum exploration licensing round for the Mannar Basin, with the official launch taking place on August 25 at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation headquarters. Organised by the Petroleum Development Authority of Sri Lanka, the event was held under the patronage of Energy Minister Anura Karunathilaka and Labour Minister and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha. Under the latest licensing round, four exploration blocks covering approximately 34,000 square kilometres in the Mannar Basin will be offered to international energy companies for further exploration. The Ministry said previous exploration activities in the basin had confirmed the presence of petroleum and natural gas, including discoveries of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons. Petroleum Development Authority Director General Neil de Silva said the basin’s largely unexplored areas present significant opportunities for international investors to undertake further exploration using modern geological surveying methods and advanced technologies. He added that prospective companies would also have access to geological information on the Mannar Basin held by the Authority. According to de Silva, existing geological data suggests that the Mannar Basin could hold around 2 billion barrels of petroleum and 9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, with the potential for these resources to be commercially recovered through drilling.
