Meet Shen Tharindu Senanayake: A Growing Sri Lankan Freelancer and SEO Consultant

Shen Tharindu Senanayake is a growing Sri Lankan freelancer, SEO consultant, and digital growth specialist who helps businesses strengthen their online visibility, digital presence, and technical foundations. His work sits at the point where search strategy meets practical technical problem-solving.

A Journey Built on Curiosity

Shen’s journey in the digital space combines a passion for SEO, technology, problem-solving, and continuous learning. As a growing freelancer, he works closely with businesses and individuals to understand their digital challenges and develop practical solutions that support long-term growth. Rather than applying a single fixed formula, he takes the time to understand what each client is actually facing before recommending a way forward.

Expertise Across Modern Search

His expertise spans modern search strategies, including SEO, Off-Page SEO, and Local SEO, along with newer disciplines that reflect how search is changing: GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and XEO (Experience Engine Optimization). Together, these cover both traditional ranking work and the emerging ways people discover information online.

Technical Depth Beyond Search

Beyond search optimization, Shen also brings hands-on technical experience in website troubleshooting, hosting troubleshooting, domain and DNS-related issues, website performance, networking, and general web technical support.

This combination of SEO and technical knowledge allows him to look beyond rankings. It means understanding how a website’s technical foundation, authority, user experience, and overall digital presence work together to influence growth — a perspective that treats visibility as the outcome of many connected parts rather than a single metric.

Connections Matter as Much as Deliverables

Networking and building meaningful professional relationships are also important parts of his journey. Shen believes that freelancing is not only about delivering work, but also about learning from others, sharing knowledge, building connections, and creating opportunities through collaboration.

Adapting to a Changing Landscape

As search continues to evolve through AI-powered platforms, answer engines, local discovery, and new digital experiences, Shen continues to expand his knowledge and adapt his approach to the changing digital landscape. Staying current is not a side task in this field — it is the work itself.

Looking Ahead

His goal is to grow from Sri Lanka while working with businesses and professionals across international markets, continuously developing his expertise and contributing to the growing reputation of Sri Lankan digital talent globally.

For Shen, this journey is about more than SEO. It’s about learning, solving problems, building connections, creating value, and growing one step at a time.

And this is only the beginning.

  • Sri Lanka has launched this year’s petroleum exploration licensing round for the Mannar Basin, with the official launch taking place on August 25 at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation headquarters. Organised by the Petroleum Development Authority of Sri Lanka, the event was held under the patronage of Energy Minister Anura Karunathilaka and Labour Minister and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha. Under the latest licensing round, four exploration blocks covering approximately 34,000 square kilometres in the Mannar Basin will be offered to international energy companies for further exploration. The Ministry said previous exploration activities in the basin had confirmed the presence of petroleum and natural gas, including discoveries of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons. Petroleum Development Authority Director General Neil de Silva said the basin’s largely unexplored areas present significant opportunities for international investors to undertake further exploration using modern geological surveying methods and advanced technologies. He added that prospective companies would also have access to geological information on the Mannar Basin held by the Authority. According to de Silva, existing geological data suggests that the Mannar Basin could hold around 2 billion barrels of petroleum and 9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, with the potential for these resources to be commercially recovered through drilling.
