Three Undergraduates Launch Durokey: A New Startup Making Business Easier in Sri Lanka

A new startup is taking a bold step toward digital transformation in the local business world. Three undergraduates from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura – Pasindu Kapugama, Amish Nethum, and Ashen Gunaratne – have launched Durokey, an innovative business platform built through a collaboration between Durowave (Pvt) Ltd and Keytrust Finance Solutions.

What Durokey Does

Durokey is designed to simplify the way businesses manage their day-to-day operations. Instead of relying on manual work and paperwork, the platform introduces smart, automated financial and compliance tools that handle the heavy lifting for business owners.

As its first milestone, Durokey offers a digital tax estimator along with an online return filing system. Together, these tools allow users to calculate and submit their taxes within minutes, with both accuracy and ease. For many small business owners, tax season is one of the most time-consuming parts of the year, and this feature is aimed squarely at that problem.

Built for Security and Simplicity

The platform has been built with an AI-driven, user-friendly design. The focus is on three things: security, convenience, and efficiency. Users do not need to be financial experts or tech specialists to use it.

This approach makes Durokey especially useful for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses — the groups that often have the least time and the fewest resources to spend on administrative tasks. By automating these processes, the platform allows them to focus more on growing their business and less on paperwork.

A Step Forward for Startup Sri Lanka

What makes this launch stand out is who is behind it. Three university students, still completing their studies, have identified a real problem faced by businesses and built a working solution for it. That kind of initiative is exactly what the startup Sri Lanka community needs more of.

The partnership between Durowave (Pvt) Ltd and Keytrust Finance Solutions also shows how young talent and established expertise can come together to create something practical and useful.

Looking Ahead

With this launch, these young innovators are setting the stage for a future where running a business in Sri Lanka becomes smarter, faster, and fully digital. Durokey’s tax tools are only the first milestone, and the platform is positioned to grow further into business automation and compliance.

For any startup, freelancer, or small business owner looking to cut down on paperwork, Durokey is a name worth watching.
