John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) is set to expand its Consumer Foods portfolio by entering Sri Lanka’s Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector through the introduction of globally recognised fast-food brand Wendy’s.
The company announced that all key franchise agreements and preliminary preparations have been completed, paving the way for its entry into the local fast-food market. The move forms part of JKH’s broader strategy to diversify its consumer business while strengthening its footprint in Sri Lanka’s food and beverage industry.
According to the company, the first Wendy’s restaurant is scheduled to open by December 2026, marking the official launch of the international brand in Sri Lanka.
The expansion reflects JKH’s continued efforts to broaden its consumer offerings and capitalise on growing opportunities within the country’s quick service restaurant segment.
