InTalent Asia: The Women-Led Startup Raising Hiring Standards in Sri Lanka

Meet Heshani Kaumadi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of InTalent Asia — a women-led executive search and workforce solutions company building trusted hiring partnerships across Sri Lanka and global markets.

From Focused Venture to Trusted HR Partner

Heshani’s journey is defined by bold execution and disciplined growth.

InTalent Asia began as a focused venture with a clear purpose: to help organisations access high quality talent through structured and ethical recruitment practices. Over the years, it has evolved into a trusted HR partner supporting organisations across multiple industries.

That progression — from a single clear idea to a multi-industry service business — is a familiar arc in the startup Sri Lanka space, though few reach the scale InTalent Asia has.

Serving 500+ Organisations

Today, the company supports more than 500 organisations across Sri Lanka and international markets, including several Fortune 500 companies.

It has built a strong reputation for delivering recruitment, executive search, and workforce solutions across multiple industries and seniority levels, including executive and C-level hiring.

Internationally Aligned Standards

Under Heshani’s leadership, InTalent Asia has strengthened its operational standards through internationally aligned systems.

The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701 certifications. Together, these reinforce its commitment to quality management, workplace safety, information security, and privacy protection.

For a recruitment firm handling large volumes of personal data, the information security and privacy certifications carry particular weight.

One of the Largest Talent Networks

The organisation maintains one of the largest professional talent networks in Sri Lanka.

That network enables faster and more effective access to skilled professionals across industries, allowing the company to support both local organisations and international businesses seeking talent from Sri Lanka and the wider region.

Recognition and Philosophy

Beyond building a successful business, Heshani has consistently focused on strengthening professional standards within the recruitment and HR advisory space, emphasising ethical hiring, structured evaluation processes, and long-term client partnerships.

Her leadership has been recognised through several national awards, including HR Business Leader of the Year at the CEO Sri Lanka Awards, Excellence in Human Resources & Recruitment Solutions at the Women MSME Awards, and recognition in the Entrepreneurship & Startup category at the CPM Sri Lanka Management Leadership Excellence Awards.

At the core of her philosophy is a simple belief: organisations grow stronger when hiring decisions are guided by integrity, professionalism, and long-term thinking.

  • Sri Lanka has launched this year’s petroleum exploration licensing round for the Mannar Basin, with the official launch taking place on August 25 at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation headquarters. Organised by the Petroleum Development Authority of Sri Lanka, the event was held under the patronage of Energy Minister Anura Karunathilaka and Labour Minister and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha. Under the latest licensing round, four exploration blocks covering approximately 34,000 square kilometres in the Mannar Basin will be offered to international energy companies for further exploration. The Ministry said previous exploration activities in the basin had confirmed the presence of petroleum and natural gas, including discoveries of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons. Petroleum Development Authority Director General Neil de Silva said the basin’s largely unexplored areas present significant opportunities for international investors to undertake further exploration using modern geological surveying methods and advanced technologies. He added that prospective companies would also have access to geological information on the Mannar Basin held by the Authority. According to de Silva, existing geological data suggests that the Mannar Basin could hold around 2 billion barrels of petroleum and 9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, with the potential for these resources to be commercially recovered through drilling.
